Amanda reached out to the JACK Hotline ☎️ 07591969790
“How do I support my partner?” ⬇️
This is all too common and, guess what, Amanda isn’t the only woman who text the hotline with a version of this question.
For too many men their female partner is the only person who sees their raw, vulnerable and messy side. Their girlfriend or wife is the only person they open up to when the lights are out.
It’s hard to support your partner if they’re going through something. It’s hard to see someone you love suffer.
It’s hard for women to reach men . Talking about feelings and emotions can come easily to many women. It’s hard to put yourself in the shoes of a man raised and conditioned differently. We are still only just learning about the complexities and dynamics of male mental health, we’re all learning, men and women.
I’m conjuring up a response video & blog to this topic. I want to answer this question for Amanda and for many other people too.
Let’s help Amanda out.
What’s your take on this? ⬇️
Men, what would you tell Amanda to do? How can she support her partner?
Women, have you been through this? What would you say to Amanda?
Coaches and Therapists, what advice do you have?
(Top advice will be curated and shared in a follow up blog and video, your words will be credited ✅ )
Let’s make this practical with actionable advice, guidance and links to good resources. Let’s help Amanda, help her partner. Let’s stop one more man suffering.
